Refugee and asylum seekers identity documents are legally recognized to access banking and financial services, telecoms, employment opportunities etc. Despite this legal recognition, limited awareness about the refugee rights among service providers pose a challenge for refugees to effectively access services using their identity document. Some services providers including financial service providers hesitate to provide refugees services as they regard them as temporary and high-risk clients and hesitate to provide them with services.
