Selected provisions
Article No.8 - Prohibition of Forced Labor

1) Forced labor is prohibited, except in cases defined by the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan.

2) Forced labor does not include:

- Work required under the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan on military service;

- Work required in emergency situations that threaten the life, personal safety, or health of the population;

- Work required as a result of a legally binding criminal sentence and performed under the supervision of authorized state bodies responsible for ensuring the legality of judicial sentences.

3) In the cases specified in part 2 of this article, the employee cannot be placed at the disposal of private individuals or non-governmental organizations.
