Analysis

In Costa Rica, the Instituto Mixto de Ayuda Social (IMAS), according to Article 2 of the Ley de Creación del Instituto Mixto de Ayuda Social, is the authority entrusted with the responsibility of eradicating the problem of poverty in the country, which implies planning, directing, executing and conducting a national plan for this purpose. IMAS implements actions and programs for the benefit of the population, in order to achieve the public purpose it seeks; such programs are available to asylum seekers and refugees without discrimination, as long as they meet the corresponding requirements.
