Description

The Tanzanian Land Act, enacted in 1999 (Act No. 4), governs land administration in Tanzania, excluding village land, and vests ultimate land ownership in the President as a trustee for all citizens, while granting rights of occupancy.

Section 20 - Restrictions on Transfer of Land to Non-Citizens

A non-citizen shall not be allocated or granted land unless it is for investment purposes under the Tanzania Investment Act.
