The National Strategy for Ageing in Somalia (2024) complements these efforts by focusing on the protection and empowerment of older persons. Developed with support from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), this strategy aims to establish legally binding provisions to facilitate ageing with dignity, thereby enhancing the social protection landscape for all vulnerable groups, including FDPs.
