Description
The Philippine Immigration Act of 1940 establishes a legal framework for controlling the entry, stay and departure of all non-citizens. It creates a Bureau of Immigration—headed by a Presidentially appointed Commissioner and two Deputy Commissioners under the Department of Labor—and empowers Immigrant Inspectors and Boards of Special Inquiry to examine, admit, exclude or deport aliens.
