This Federal Law establishes the legal framework for recognizing and protecting refugees in the Russian Federation by defining who qualifies as a refugee, setting out the procedures for application and determination of refugee status, and providing the economic, social, and legal guarantees necessary to safeguard refugees’ rights and legitimate interests.
