Subject: regarding the Instruction on the marriage registration in the “special areas”.
This is to be informed that the tendency of Bangladeshi boys getting married to the Rohigya girls coming from Myanmar and the Myanmar Rohingya girls getting married to Bangladeshi boys has grown remarkably and due to some Marriage Registrar’s abrupt engagement with this issue, all related Marriages Registrars are instructed to register the marriages in the special areas (Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati, and Chittagong district) upon confirming that groom and bride are both Bangladeshis (verify the National Identity document). Strict actions will be taken against the responsible Marriage Registrar for any non-compliance on the subject matter. Related District Registrars are instructed to supervise the matter.
