Unfortunately, the issue of ensuring the freedom to choose a place of residence for individuals seeking asylum and refugees remains unresolved, as the existing legal mechanisms and tools for administrative and judicial protection do not provide an adequate level of protection. This is because the issue of choosing their place of residence is often considered in the context of ensuring national security and maintaining public order. As stated in Resolution No. 325, the approach to this issue is often limited to state interests in the area of security, which, in turn, complicates the provision of full legal protection for individuals seeking asylum and refugees. As a result, the legal tools intended to regulate issues related to the residence of refugees often prove to be insufficient or inadequate for ensuring their right to freedom of choice in place of residence. Thus, the legal and judicial systems are unable to effectively address issues concerning the adaptation and free residence of individuals seeking asylum, which calls for further improvement of national mechanisms for protecting the rights of refugees.
