Do domestic laws and policies impose fees for the issuance of a travel document?
Assessment by population
Analysis
Refugees are not issued travel documents by the Government of Bangladesh.
Under GoB’s strictly enforced encampment policy, Rohingya refugees’ freedom of movement is restricted, and local/domestic travel is temporarily permitted only through prior authorisation from the Camp-in-Charges and/or the Office of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC).
The “exit permit” issued to the Rohingya refugees for UNHCR facilitated resettlement or complementary pathways is free of charge. Refugees are not required to pay for the temporary permission issued by the Camp-in-Charge for refugees’ travel between and beyond the refugee camps inside Bangladesh.
