Rohingya refugees lack the legal right to work and are not safeguarded by the nation's labor protection laws. Additionally, Domestic laws or policies have no provisions regarding the recognition of diplomas of refugees obtained in other countries and needed to practice liberal professions/ work in professional fields.

In absence of national laws, the Government follows the guideline which illustrates recruitment of skilled professionals from the refugee community (alongside those from the host communities) in humanitarian programmes the camps in Cox’s Bazar District and on the Bhasan Char Island.

Humanitarian agencies oversee the recruitment of skilled or semi-skilled refugee volunteers for various roles. In select scenarios, such as hiring for positions like Community Health Care Providers, Assistant Teachers, and Master Trainers, these agencies recognize and accept degrees or diplomas presented by the refugee applicants.
